The creation of much-loved legendary chef Raymond Blanc, Brasserie Blanc has become a firm favourites thanks to its authentic and affordable French food.
There are now 19 brasseries around the country serving Raymond’s simple and hearty French food in relaxing and welcoming settings. Many of the restaurants inhabit fabulous historic properties that have been restored to showcase their stunning features – among them Bristol’s medieval banquet halls in Cabot Circus, Farnham’s Georgian property and, of course, the classic glass-domed Opera Terrace in Covent Garden.
Much of the menu at Brasserie Blanc is inspired by Raymond’s childhood and the dishes his mother ‘Maman Blanc’ used to make in rural France – some of his dishes are even named after her. The menu changes according to the seasons and caters for all tastes from simple classics such as beef bourguignon, melted cheese pots, moules frites and steaks to wonderful game dishes and healthy fish and salad offerings. Desserts are a highlight with the famous flaming baked Alaska for two not to be missed.
In addition to the a la carte menu there is a great value set price menu comprising two courses from £10.95 outside London and £14 in the capital. This menu changes every month to include the best seasonal ingredients.
There are menus for children with little ones very much welcomed and looked after.
