WIN! a Viessmann Vitodens 200-W combi boiler with WEATHER COMPENSATION controls
Viessmann is one of the leading international manufacturers of heating systems, and is offering readers the chance to win a Vitodens 200-W combi boiler, with telescopic flue and weather compensation controls.
Weather compensation works by reducing the flow temperature of the water in your central heating system when it is warmer outside, by monitoring the air temperatures outside your home and automatically adjusting the boiler. The warmer the external temperature the less heat is lost from your home and consequently less heat is required into your home to maintain its temperature. Lower flow temperatures require less heat and therefore less gas is burnt, reducing costs.
Your boiler fully condenses for flow temperatures below 57 degrees centigrade so when this is possible, e.g. in all but the coldest winter months, the boiler condenses more of the time is and is more efficient. Weather compensation can deliver up to 15% additional savings through improved efficiency.
Lambda Pro Combustion Control for greater fuel savings
As the weather compensation controls communicate with the boiler to adjust the flow temperature, the Lambda Pro combustion controller works alongside the burner to constantly monitor the air to gas ratio. Instead of the gas mix remaining fixed from commissioning, the mix is adjusted as required to maintain the correct ratio – in a similar way to the fuel management system in a car engine to ensure the Vitodens 200-W works at a constant and optimum efficiency.
