If you haven’t booked a holiday this summer, then there’s good news! Before you banish your bikini and flip-flops to the back of the wardrobe, you might want to know that the mix of strikes, the new budget and the volcanic ash cloud has produced a whole sea of bargain holidays and hotels – so you might want to get looking and booking!

A slow summer season has resulted in huge cuts in the prices of some flights and hotels, and to bag the best summer bargain then take a look at breaks in the Balearic islands of Majorca, Menorca and Ibiza, and Greece - experts reckon you could be getting a whopping 40% discount. If that’s not enough to tempt you, Tui Travel, owner of Thomson Holidays, still have approximately 650,000 flights and holiday deals to sell.

Travel analyst Bob Atkinson of comparison website travelsupermarket.com said: 'What we have seen in the summer market, and what Tui is referring to, is that they are finding it increasingly difficult to shift holidays at the margin they want to shift them at. In other words, they are having to sell cheaper.'

Will you be booking a bargain break?
