Sarah Beeny’s Homes & Property Issue March 2014
There are certain design ideas I’ve always loved – whether or not they’re the must-have of the moment. Clean lines of plush leather sofa, shiny copper ornaments and wall-to-ceiling book shelves are just a few of my favourite things. And while I haven’t quite managed to incorporate all three into my home yet, these classic themes have found a place in this issue. Elsewhere in the mag, you’ll find all the inspiration you need for a few bathroom or kitchen – two of the most common rooms for home improvements in the UK.
We’ve also discovered some seriously stunning home makeovers this month, from Pereen and Mathew’s fun, spacious studio apartment (pg 155) to Sue and Andy’s quirky, warm and very real family abode in north London (pg 96). And maybe it’s because I live in a small two-bedroom flat that Kia Hansen’s cool and sophisticated self-build in Hastings appeals (pg 220).
Meanwhile, guest editor Sarah Beeny, solves all your decorating dilemmas (pg 336) and offers advice to first-time buyers, along with other property pearls of wisdom, on pg 31. We also revisit her wedding venue Rise Hall (pg 241). Home is certainly where the heart is and I hope you find ideas to make yours perfect.
