From property boom to the dramatic consequences of the huge crash we are in right now, our favourite reality TV property programme Channel4’s Property Ladder is back on our screens – now in its eighth series – and with a new recession-friendly title: Property Snakes And Ladders.

Favourite Place:  My bed.

TV show:
Question Time - but it's on so late. I struggle to keep my eyes open.

School subject
: It was maths but only because I had a crush on my teacher, Mr Prince. When he left my skills went downhill.

Drink:
Red wine - I like French wines.

Department store
: Selfridges.

Romantic moment:
Lots of them - that's why I'm still married. I'm not one for being whisked off to New York first class. I think romance is about the little things.

Song
: Mary Chapin Carpenter, Shut Up And Kiss Me.

Property you've lived in
: It used to be when we lived above the office we worked from, and I really didn't think psychologically I'd be able to leave. But since we've had kids our home in London is fab.

Football team
: Hull city - they're legends.

Time of day:
Bathtime, it's a big deal in our house.

Celebrity chef:
Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall, James Martin and Gordon Ramsay are all absolutely charming.

Room in the house:
My kitchen.

Favourite decor style:
Palladian.

Way to unwind
: A glass of wine and chat.

Reality TV show
: Strictly Come Dancing.

Colour:
Pink. I don't have many pink things but it's a fantastic colour.
Luxury purchase: Our 8ft bed. We bought it so all the children could fit in.

Favourite beauty treatment
: Lavera's Wildrose body lotion, £7.50. It feels great on my skin.

Favourite budget buy

A barbecue from B&Q that looks like it cost hundreds of pounds but in reality was £120! Weber 57 cm BBQ, £89.98, B&Q

Favourite outfit

My Betty Barclay jacket. I love it. Purple jacket, £165, Betty Barclay

Favourite book

Victoria's Wars by Saul David (£9.99, Penguin). I don't have much time but I read this about six months ago and loved it.

Favourite film
The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas - it's so wonderfully camp and I just love Dolly Parton
