Lorraine’s sidekick to be is a proud showbiz dad
Aled Jones, forever etched in everyone’s memory as the voice behind the classic soundtrack ‘Walking in the Air’, the song from the 1982 animated film The Snowman, has spoken of his pride for his daughter Emilia, who is following in his celebrity footsteps and making a mark for herself at the age of nine.
The little girl has appeared as the young Princess Fiona in the West End musical Shrek as well as playing the role of Jasmine in the film One Day, which starred Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess.
Aled, who will soon be making daily appearances on the Daybreak sofa as co-presenter alongside at home’s Lorraine Kelly, said ‘It’s what she wants to do, who am I to stop her?’
And Emilia could take a leaf out of her own dad’s books as despite being a massive star at the age of 12, he has gone on to forge a very successful career as an adult not only as Joseph in the West End stage show Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, but also as a television and radio presenter for programmes including Songs of Praise and BBC Radio 2′s The Early Breakfast Show and Good Morning Sunday.
