Liberty pops up at the Westfield
The Stratford-based shopping centre looks forward to a new floral addition on its main promenade.
The one-of-a-kind luxe London department store is spreading its wings towards the Westfield Centre. Making its first venture away from its home on Regent Street, May 28th will see a Liberty pop-up store spring up in the shopping centre’s main promenade: The Street.
The 17,000-square-foot space will be open for business until September 12, treating Olympic park visitors to a variety of products covered in Liberty’s iconic prints. Customers can expect usual floral fancies like umbrellas, sunglasses, stationery, kitchen items, shirts, scarves and ties – as well as its most recent collaborations, featuring Dr Martens, Barbour and Nike.
Those worried about the iconic store losing its long-admired wooden panelled aesthetic and traditional decor can breathe a sigh of relief too. The store will use the same soft colour palette as its mother-store, as well as sporting a variety of vintage display pieces.
And to ensure its royal British authenticity, two imitation guards will stand outside the store. Dressed in full regalia, the Queen’s protector look-a-likes will stand poised ready for photo opportunities.
For passers-by looking for a memento of the visit, retro-style photo booths are situated in the shop’s windows for snap-happy opportunities. All images will then be uploaded onto Liberty’s Facebook page as part of its ‘I Love Liberty’ summer campaign.
Head down to the Westfield next week so you can embrace the flora and fauna, while grinning with a guard or two.
