Sugar level balance
Keep your blood sugar levels balanced and you won’t get that high followed by a crash.
Eat breakfast
A big breakfast that has slow-release carbohydrates such as porridge but includes protein as well. So sprinkle on seeds or have wholemeal toast with tomatoes and mushrooms.
It’s not white
Refined carbohydrates like white bread, rice or pasta have had fibre and nutrients removed and are therefore readily absorbed leaving you craving for more and have low energy.
Caffeine low
Tea, coffee and Coke are high in caffeine stimulate the pancreas to produce more insulin. Have no more than two a day and drink water instead.
Veg it up
Apart from the nutrients and minerals in vegetables, they are a good source of insoluble fibre which balances blood glucose levels.
