Nobu launches the luxury Japanese takeaway Bento Box
Nobu London, one of London’s most popular japanese cuisine restaurants, is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year – and as with all birthdays, a present is custom. So to mark the occasion, the restaurant has launched the 15th Anniversary Bento Box: a three-tiered dish filled with sushi, salmon and cocktail-inspired desserts…
The Bento Box is a handcrafted Japanese box designed with the ultimate takeaway experience in mind, taking inspiration from traditional Japanese takeaway containers. To coincide with London’s summer celebrations, guests are able to take the ‘Michelin-starred picnics’ to indulge in a spot of alfresco dining or to enjoy in the comfort of their own homes.
This luxury boxes consist of three tiers – divided up into three tasty courses: the first containing Yellow Fin Tuna, Salmon, and Sweet Shrimp and a selection of sushi; the second tier includes Matsuhisa Shrimp with Caviar, a Smoked Salmon with Cucumber Noodle Salad and several other sweet but spicy treats. And to complete the Bento Box is a selection of handmade desserts, one of which is a Mojito Mousse with Exotic Fruits.
Even the boxes themselves have been intricately thought-out, complete with wrapping paper and a gold sash. This is a takeaway with an exclusive twist: perfect for a couple or a pair of friends looking to treat themselves (boxes are priced at £250 and serve two people). All we know is that it certainly beats fish and chips from the local takeaway!
