When it comes to deciding what to have for dinner, when to have children or where to go on holiday, women are the head of the household...

From choosing where to live to picking the names of the children, 75% of all important household decisions are now made by women, according to a new study.

Other essential matters that women take upon ourselves to decide also include how to spend money, how to run the household and even how frequently to have sex!

In fact, women are responsible for an overwhelming 85% of day to day decisions – blokes, on the other hand, are only involved in decisions about what car a couple buys and what they watch on the telly.

Larry File, Brand Communications Manager at Ginsters, who consulted 3,000 couples about their relationships for the study, said: “It seems men are no longer the domineering head of the household and they know it. We were surprised by how honest and open men were about their lack of say in their day to day lives. But most men didn’t seem to mind having to ask permission before doing things.”

The research also revealed that almost two thirds of men rely on their Mrs to decide what and when they eat, with three quarters asking before eating unhealthy food.

What's more, 60% of men admitted that their partner had complete control over when and how often they got busy in the bedroom department!

Larry added: “Men reported to trust their partner’s advice above all others. So it makes sense that they would want to consult with them before taking a decision. The idea of a man heading up the house is a thing of the past with most couples agreeing that the woman is now the key decision maker. Women are now more likely to be consulted before their partner makes any important decision and likely to get their way.”
