The majority of New Year's resolutions revolve around health and fitness, but instead of signing up to a gym and making it to a couple of obligatory classes in January, most of us now prefer to workout at home.
Whether this is to do with saving time or money, exercising at home has become easier with the dozens of workout videos available and more recently videogames. And a new generation of games has now evolved, the most recent being "Yoga" for the Wii, the first 100% yoga game.
One of the most important things to consider when working out at home is safety and unlike workout videos, games offer you feedback and are jam-packed with information.Yoga for the Wii offers interactive yoga training sessions in seven huge levels showing authentic Asian locations and buildings to help you understand each Asana in detail and help you create your individually customised training plan. On top of this, you have the option of using the Balance Board to help monitor your balance and breathing.
Endorsing the product is Katy Appleton, one of the UK's top yoga teachers. She trains and teaches worldwide, classes, retreats and private clients. She famously instructed Geri Halliwell in her yoga transformation in 2003, and since 2000 has been running and managing her own yoga school 'appleyoga'. For the month of January, Katy will be providing us with her top tips to help you start practising yoga at home. From a beginners guide to diet ideas, Katy will help to kick start your fitness regime.
To celebrate the launch of the game we are giving you the chance to win the ultimate yoga pack, including a Nintendo Wii, a copy of the game and a class with Katy. Nine runners up can also win a class. Click here to enter. We hope you enjoy Katy's blogs.
