The celebs give their top tips on how to be healthy and happy

  1. Get into a water routine
To make sure you moderate the amount of water you drink every day, each time you go for a wee, have a glass of water afterwards. And the more you drink the more you wee, and the more you wee the more you drink! Gok Wan
  2. Always check your moles
A few years ago new moles popped up on my back and my GP said it was important to keep an eye on them. Because it's hard to check your own back, I had to get someone else to have a look at them - being in Atomic Kitten together, Liz McLarnon and
I have always checked each other's moles for any changes. Atomic Kitten's Natasha Hamilton
  3. Do some pill-popping
I swear by a supplement to boost my skin, hair and nails. I've been taking Perfectil once a day for a while now and I can definitely see a difference. Actress Susie Amy
  4. Get out your tap shoes
I work out by tap dancing. It's something I've always done, I love it. It's really demanding but it's such a challenge. Catherine Zeta Jones
  5. Keep your machine well oiled
Get grooming! Just five minutes of moisturising every day will replenish your skin of oils that are essential in making you look good naked and you'll get used to touching yourself. Gok Wan
  6. Start kickboxing
The endorphin rush is great. It's a good way to keep fit and I can defend myself if I have to. Keira Knightley
  7. Do little and often
It's important to keep active as you get older. Exercise every day, even if it's just dancing around your living room. Strictly Come Dancing's Arlene Phillips
  8. Find the right fitness buddy
I tried going to the gym with my boyfriend and it was a disaster. We kept arguing because he tried to tell me how to do my workout. In the end I told him: 'We can't do this together. We can do everything else babe, but not the gym.' I'm going to start going to the gym with Amelle because she's such a warrior. Sugababes star Keisha Buchanan
  9. Take up pole dancing
It's ideal for muscle strengthening. I've noticed my body has taken on a whole new shape. Teri Hatcher
  10. Don't use lack of time as a reason not to take care of your skin
I'm a big fan of multi tasking beauty products so I love Dr Frances Prenna Jones Formula 2006, £93, skin lotion, which cleans, purifies and moisturises in one sweep. It leaves my skin looking really healthy. Louise Redknapp
  11. Prevention is better than cure
I used to have spots when I was a teenager. I still use Clearasil Stayclear Skin Perfecting Wash, £3.59, now because it cleared up my skin when I was younger and I don't want my spots coming back. And I always take my make-up off properly. Sugababe Heidi Range
  12. Always scrub and prime your skin I love face scrubs.
I always begin make-up on a model by using Aveda Exfoliant, £13.60, a liquid exfoliant that wipes off dead cells. Then I use Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch, £21.50, a skin primer that I apply on the lines that run either side of your nose and mouth, inner corners of the eyes, over open pores and to smooth the forehead. Whatever I put on top goes on better and lasts longer. Make-up artist, Ruby Hammer
  13. Celebrate your body
Be honest with yourself. If there's a dent in your car, you'll walk round the other way so you don't have to see it. But whatever you hate about your body is not going to go away unless you have surgery. So live with it! Celebrate it! Gok Wan
  14. Don't live to work
I have the attitude that you should be professional and always do your best in your job. But even if it is the best job in the world, it's still only your job, and at the end of the day you go home to a family that, in an ideal world, should be more important. I never compromise my personal life for my professional life. LK Today's Lorraine Kelly
  15. Break a bad habit
It takes 21 days to break a negative habit and 21 days to develop a positive one. So, in three weeks you could be making changes that will enhance your life. Motivational trainer, John Jones
  16. There's no big secret to losing weight
When I lost weight, it was a lifestyle change. There's no huge secret there. I stopped eating as much and did some exercise. A controlled diet and exercise will always make people lose weight, unless they've got a medical condition, so that's what I did. It was a gradual process. Gok Wan
  17. Don't let things get stale
Give each other a swift kick up the bottom and plan six fun things you can do together this week. They don't have to take loads of time or be complicated: take a bath, go and try that new restaurant, see friends you haven't seen in ages, a decision to start making plans for that longed-for holiday. Do this for a month. If you're not enjoying each other's company four weeks later, while lounging around that resort, you're in trouble. TV relationship and sex expert Tracey Cox
  18. When dating, get in the right mindset - and don't over-analyse
Give yourself an emotional MOT before you go on a date to check you're in the mindset for a possible new relationship. And don't overthink the date - see it as having fun. Start out looking for someone with similar interests, then if that goes well think about attraction and getting to know them better. TV relationship expert Jenni Trent Hughes
  19. Small changes can mean big results
I did Rosemary Conley's diet. What I love about it is that I can still have all the things I like, just a bit less, or with less fat. One night my man cooked me beef stroganoff with Greek yoghurt instead of cream without telling me and I had no idea - it tasted just as good as the unhealthy version. Loose Women's Coleen Nolan
  20. Take your time and savour your food
To digest food and absorb its nutrients, your body needs to produce stomach acid and digestive enzymes. It takes time to do this, so cook food from scratch as the smells stimulate the digestive process. We tend to eat on the run when we're busy and anxious, which is not ideal as the stress hormones can switch off digestion. Gillian McKeith
  21. And the final word from Gok...
Everything in moderation. So if you want it, have it. Just make sure you compromise in other areas. Never deny yourself anything.
