quicheCUTOn Sundays, when there is nowhere to go in a hurry, there is no better way to start off the day than with
a combination of breakfast and lunch. The food at brunch is more fun than the usual breakfast, but that does not mean that it has to be unhealthy. There are many brunch recipes that will please the entire family, and the following is a selection of some of the best.

One brunch recipe that is nice and filling is the baked ham and cheese frittata. This recipe appeals to the entire family, and consists of spring onion, pepper, eggs, bread, ham and cheddar cheese. This main course can be made in a few steps. The baking time for this recipe is about an hour per batch.

Another main course for brunch is spinach quiche. Once again the ingredients list for this recipe is short, consisting only of eggs, onion, cheese, and spinach. This recipe is a clever means of introducing the children to the taste of spinach. Just like the frittata, the baking time for this recipe is about an hour, though it may go as fast as 45 minutes. Once the eggs have set in the baking pan, the spinach quiche is done.

Other options for the main course include fruit pancakes. There are many different types of fruit pancakes. A popular method of making fruit pancakes is to simply add berries to pancake batter. The same can be done with peaches. For a different kind of fruit pancake, there is the baked apple pancake. This recipe consists simply of eggs, milk, butter, flour and of course, apples. This pancake can be baked over the course of half an hour, and serves four.

In terms of other components for the brunch, there are few drinks as refreshing with eggs benedict than a fruit smoothie. One common type of smoothie is the tropical fruit smoothie. Common flavours in a tropical fruit smoothie include pineapple, mango, passion fruit, and banana. Coconut milk is an excellent way to tie all of the fruit flavours together.

Of course, there are many dessert recipes that are associated with brunch. A tasty yet healthy dessert for brunch is the guiltless mango fool. The ingredients for this recipe are simply mango, cream, and honey. This recipe appeals to children, and yet is not overly sugary.

Pan fried pumpkin bread is another dessert that is suitable for brunch. Besides the spice mixture for this recipe, which features cinnamon and nutmeg, the main ingredients are pumpkin, flour, milk, sugar and vegetable oil.

Finally, for a dessert that is a little more nutritious, there is breakfast couscous. This recipe has several variations, honey and apricot is a classic. When the couscous is cooked in these ingredients, the dish becomes an alternative to porridge. Flaked almonds may be added, as well as raisins.
